Car Deal of the Day: Cupra Formentor is a sporty SUV for under £200 a month

The Cupra Formentor featured as a Deal of the Day earlier this summer, but we couldn’t ignore this excellent new offer which now brings the sharply styled SUV under the £200 mark.

Through the Auto Express Buy A Car service , Leasing Options has wiped another £8 a month off a two-year deal , which makes the Formentor the most affordable new Cupra available right now.

Just £194 a month will get you into the fantastic Formentor with an initial outlay of £2,739, which is £95 less than was the case with the previous deal. The annual mileage is capped at 5,000, although you might want to think carefully before extending this, because going up to 10,000 will cost you an extra £46 a month.

Having been facelifted in late 2024, the Formentor remains not only one of the best Cupras, but also one of the finest family SUVs on sale. The V2 trim offered here makes it a great all-rounder, too – think Volkswagen Golf but cooler, more spacious and just as well equipped.

As it shares the same underpinnings as the Golf, it impresses on the road, driving like a hatchback with no extra body roll, despite the raised ride height effortlessly soaking up big bumps. There’s an easygoing six-speed manual gearbox paired with a superb 148bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which provides plenty of punch while also being smooth and economical. Expect around 45mpg on a combined cycle.

There’s all the equipment you need, too. Inside the snazzy, copper-accented cabin (which makes the Golf look dull in comparison), the Cupra comes with a 12.9-inch touchscreen with the brand’s own infotainment and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, plus a slick 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.

You also get heated sport seats in Cupra’s microfibre upholstery and a decent amount of space, with the 450-litre boot far surpassing that of most family hatchbacks (including the Golf).
